Renaissance History

The renaissance was a European culture that took place after the middle ages. It promoted classical philosophy and art. During the Middle Ages was the fall of Ancient Rome. This was a dark time also known as the dark era because it is when the Black Plague took place killing 25 million people. During this time humanism began to start in Italy. Humanism is where they believed man was the center of his own universe. As a result in advanced communication Petrarch and Boccacio renewed the traditional Greek and Roman culture. This resulted in forming the renaissance. Many famous art pieces such as The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa were created during this time period.
