MAXCreates : Abstract Art

Participants will experiment with abstract art . Abstract art is defined as “ art that does not attempt to represent external reality , but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes , forms , colors , and textures .”
Geared to youth ages 10-15 , MAXCreates are monthly artbased workshops which promote developing friendships , exploring new art forms , and learning more about Mississippi artists .

Meridian ’ s early-morning-to-midday event features local vendors showcasing the best in locally made and grown products . Locally made products include fresh bread , homemade butter , jellies , jams , cakes , pies , local honey , goat milk cheese and ice cream . A wide arrange of seasonal produce sold by area farmers include tomatoes , onions , sweet peppers , hot peppers , eggplant , corn , peas , butter beans , squash and zucchini , plus more . Entertainment , plants and more are other features of the day event .
Earth ’ s Bounty is held the first Saturday of the month , from April to November — rain or shine . Meridian Little Theatre ’ s teen division Front & Center will perform Stephen Sondheim ’ s magical “ Into the Woods . This epic adventure musical incorporates plots and characters of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine .

The Success Program is a week-long immersive program for Mississippi High School juniors and seniors .
