She has implemented and conducted numerous classes on gardening for residents throughout Lauderdale County . She is truly the Extension Service ’ s “ one call that ’ s all ” person whenever someone inquires about gardening info .
I am a true admirer of her passion , creative talents , and her willingness to always educate others . I contend that the candidate ’ s efforts to improving the lives of others by engaging and assisting deems her worthy to be a great community leader over 50 for Lauderdale County .”

Civic , social and / or church affiliations : Director of Children ’ s Ministries at CrossView Church in Collinsville Origins of spirit of altruism : My spirit of altruism originated from growing up listening to and watching my Dad and his Dad , my grandfather . My Dad loved to give and share . When you visited , you hardly ever went home empty handed . It was most likely vegetables as we lived on a truck farm , but you took something with you when you left . My grandfather , Paw Paw , told me numerous times about how he lived through “ hard times ” and “ You shared with your neighbor what you had .” If they were in need , you helped them . This was not limited by race or color , you helped each other out when there was a need .
Importance of giving back to the community : It ’ s important to give back to your community because that ’ s what makes a community a good place to live . When people are working together , good things can happen . The people are what makes a community , not the buildings , or structures in the community .
Share an aspect of a volunteer experience that you ’ ve really enjoyed . One of my favorite things to do is to work with children helping to plant beds and teaching about how to plant . I love to watch the enthusiasm they have getting the soil ready and planting the seeds or plants . And how they love to water them !
Community ’ s greatest assets : I have thought about teaching reading to nonreading adults . I haven ’ t done this , but I think I would enjoy this opportunity one day .
Motto or favorite quote : “ You have three choices in Life : Give In , Give Up , or Give It All You Got .” I believe you make one of these choices on things you do .
• Daisy Frazier and her husband Larry have been married 50 years . They have three children , Tosha Loyed ( Shayne ), Brock Frazier and April ( Robert ) Wallis , and seven grandchildren .
