From skydiving in Fiji to exploring the Greek Isles , to chilling in the Caribbean , Meridian ’ s Terry Winstead says he is never more energized and at home than when he is traveling .

“ There is just something about getting out of the country ,” the area Realtor said . “ It feels like when I am in Meridian , I am always talking myself into working . That can even happen when I ’ m in Louisiana or somewhere else in the U . S . But when I am out of the country , I really do take a break . And that ’ s something we all need .”
Winstead tries to travel internationally a few times each year . Often , he travels by cruise . But he likes to show up in the country he will be cruising out of early so he can stay and see the sites for a few days first .
“ I don ’ t necessarily want to go and spend two weeks in Europe by myself ,” he said . “ But I do enjoy going over early , seeing and doing some things , and then getting on a cruise for the rest of the time .”
Winstead he enjoys traveling sometimes with local friends . He also has met friends on cruises that have turned into travel buddies .
“ That happens more than you might expect ,” he said . “ People meet on a cruise , start talking about the type of travel they like to do – where they want to go and for how long , things like that – and then they end up traveling together later .”
Winstead said he likes the way travel opens him up to adventure and new ideas . “ When you go to a new country and learn about and experience a new culture , your mind is more open ,” he said . “ One of the things that you realize is how young our country is . There are amazing things to see in the U . S ., but the world is full of fascinating history and sites .”
