few decades ago , plastic surgery was a luxury available only to people in major metropolitan areas – like New York , Los Angeles or Dallas .
And even when celebrities had procedures done , they usually strongly denied it , insisting that their suddenly larger bosoms or smoother foreheads occurred naturally .
Today , facelifts , tummy tucks and other procedures are accessible locally , at dramatically more affordable rates . Recovery times for plastic surgery are generally much easier , and new non-invasive options also are available to help minimize signs of aging and help patients feel their best .
Celebrities – and everyday people – also are more likely now to acknowledge they have had work done , viewing plastic surgery as just another type of self-improvement .
