MERIDIAN ACTIVITY CENTER gradually reopens , releases 2021 activities

Meridian Activity Center has long been an a popular part of the city ’ s Parks and Recreation Department . At its inception , it was a senior citizen ’ s center . Today , the facility offers activities and classes for anyone 21 years and older .
Located at 3300 32nd Ave ., the popular facility has been closed due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 virus , but is gradually reopening , following health and safety guidelines lines .
“ The Activity Center is here for the community and in many ways , we operate as an unofficial community center ,” MAC Director Kathy Anderson said . “ We are getting calls every day asking when we will reopen . People are ready to get out and be active again and we are ready to have them come back .”
Several years ago , the center underwent a name change and update of classes and programs offered . However , many people still regard Meridian Activity Center as a place just for senior citizens .
“ We have quite a few young people who use the facility and take classes ,” Anderson
