Brexit at Glastonbury
2016
'As the country are divided – in this field we belong’
Brexit couldn’t have seemed more surreal than it did to the thousands of Glasto-goers who woke up in their dampened tents after an even more surreal night at Shangri-La the night before. There was a noticeable atmosphere whilst walking around the site on that terrible Friday morning. But I couldn’t think of a better place to be when the news dawned upon me.
I honestly think I would have taken the news a lot worse had I not been at Glastonbury. There was a sense of togetherness that flowed through the fields of Worthy Farm. I couldn’t help but get the feeling that everybody else felt as strongly about the devastating news as I did; everybody from first time festival goers, clinging to their Guardian info packs and site maps to the Bowie look-alikes who clung to their third warm can of Carling of the morning.
LITTLE BRITAIN?
