2016, what a year. A year we’d all probably like to forget. I mean, did it really happen? Trumps president, Britain have left the EU and BORIS JOHNSON is foreign secretary. David Bowie, Prince and Leonard Cohen have died; George Michael died on Christmas day, I mean come on, give us a break. Brangelina have gone back to being just Brad and Angelina, Kanye was sectioned and to top it all off … as if it couldn’t get any worse; they’ve shrunk our Toblerones.
In the grand scheme of things, 2016 was a terrible year. But it was simultaneously one of the best and worst years in music. We were graced with some of the greatest albums of Bowie, Radiohead, Suede and Nick Cave’s careers as well as some of the most exciting, ambitious live shows of their careers. Even Frank Ocean came out of hiding to do his bit this year.
Yes, 2016 really was a shite state of affairs. So take five and relive it all with us; safe in the knowledge that it can’t really get any worse. Or will it?
