In another corner of the festival, Glasto veteran Jarvis Cocker held up a sign with the URL for the petition for a second EU Referendum up during his DJ set with Pulp bassist Steve Mackey. -Good old Jarv. Whilst Foals front man, Yannis Philippakis wore a t-shirt saying “Abuse of power comes of no surprise” whilst tearing up the pyramid stage on the Friday evening. But most poignant statement of the weekend, and the one that I will remember for a long, long time will be PJ Harvey’s. Harvey stopped mid set to recite a chilling rendition of John Donne’s “No man is an Island”.

Glastonbury was my solace; I was safely tucked away from the grievances that I knew I would have to face on Monday when I went back into the real world. But at least I was able to come to terms with the result in a positive and exciting environment, instead of watching the news and scrolling through twitter, whilst getting angrier and angrier by the tweet.
