NEWS Tradelink brings new board products to SA Tradelink Wood Products recently launched its board products to the local timber market. Tradelink Wood Products has welcomed its range of boards to the South African market. D edicated to procuring, shipping, manufacturing, warehousing and marketing hardwoods, plywood and allied timber products, Tradelink Wood Products of the Tradelink Group is proud to introduce its range of board products to the South African timber industry. “We are extremely excited to launch our board products in South Africa with our Russian birch plywood; OSB; MDF and HDF board; as well as various other plywoods,” says Herman Schey, Tradelink Group CEO. Established in London in 1989, the group has grown over the decades to include sales offices located in Canada, China, France, Portugal, South Africa, the UK and the US. With a network of procurement offices in South America, North America, Malaysia, Singapore and China, the company can source quality wood products at competitive prices. The company prides itself on the beauty of birch plywood. “Birch ply has for a long time been widely accepted as one of the world’s greatest plywoods. The standard nominal veneer for the core of birch plywood is 1.4mm thick, which produces a highly engineered panel offering superior stability and product integrity. “Birch plywood is made up of multiple layers of relatively thin veneers resulting in a higher glue content for any given thickness compared to plywood panels. This gives birch plywood excellent physical and mechanical properties such as strength, stiffness, wear and impact resistance,” highlights Schey. Tradelink is hell-bent on following best practise. “Our responsible purchasing policy and compliance division enables Tradelink to comply with the EU and US environmental legislation and we apply the same procedures for wood products imported into South Africa,” concludes Schey. // OCTOBER / NOVEMBER 2018 9
