PROJECTS
An aerial view of the Knysna Woodworkers workshop.

The wood was cut in different
sizes either crosscut or
length-cut. Other equipment
used during the project
included mostly hand tools
like grinders.
All projects, no matter how
big or small, have challenges
and so did this project. One
of was having to deal with
the defects that came with
the wood. The defects were
attributed to the wood
coming in log form.
“We had to treat the wood
with sanding sealer to seal it
first, before applying deeply
penetrating oil specifically
made for outdoor use.”
Another challenge was
creating different designs for
the tables. “It was quite a
challenge because they
wanted 64 different tables.
