Timber iQ February - March 2020 // Issue: 48 | Page 4

WOOD FOR THOUGHT Time to say goodbye G oodbyes are never easy, especially when parting ways with something that has somehow become part of who you are. My time at Interact Media Defined (IMD) has come to an end as I prepare to spread my wings and fly off to my next journey. This will be my last issue of Timber iQ magazine. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to everyone that I’ve been so fortunate to work with through Timber iQ. When I started working on this magazine, I knew almost nothing about timber construction. Although I am by no means an expert in timber construction, I have certainly learnt so much about the industry. Working on the magazine, I have seen how the industry has improved and grown from what it used to be. I’ve also noted how much potential there is for timber construction in South Africa. I have had the privilege of interacting with exceptional people across different areas of the industry. I am grateful for the time and attention given to me when I reached out for information and or input for the magazine. Nobody was obliged to answer my calls or reply to my emails, but they did and in so doing helped me put together a publication that I hope met the standards of our readers. Thank you to everyone who has religiously read Timber iQ. Your constructive feedback has helped us improve on the quality of the magazine. The emails and phone calls complimenting the magazine have not gone unnoticed. I also want to acknowledge 2 FEBRUARY / MARCH 2020 // that Timber iQ advertisers have also played a key role in ensuring the magazine stays on the shelf, thank you for your continued support. Closer to home, I have had the honour of working with the most amazing individuals at IMD. The IMD ‘dream team’ put in a lot of hard work to ensure that Timber iQ improved with each issue. Rory Macnamara has been a phenomenal leader who has steered the Timber iQ ship in the right direction. Angie Martin’s passion has been nothing less than inspiring. Thanks to Tarren Bolton, every article in the magazine has been impeccable, with no spelling or grammatical errors. Esmerelda Lombard’s designs have made every issue of the magazine look breathtaking. Matthew Van Wyk has been instrumental in ensuring that all the adverts are taken care of. There are many more members of the dream team who have contributed to the success of the magazine. Working with these dedicated individuals has been incredible. I have shared many memorable moments which will remain with me forever. Thank you for making my time at IMD an unforgettable one. I leave our readers with a fantastic issue which I hope they will find informative and enjoy. For the last time, happy reading and enjoy! Dineo Phoshoko www.timberiq.co.za
