Less really is more...
With the ever-increasing demand for housing despite limited space, local
timber experts have created modular timber units, inspired by tiny home living.

The compact home offers a ‘pack and go’ convenience.
S
wissline Design’s nifty Nano Mobile homes have a
complete floor space of 41m 2 , accommodates up to
four people and includes a full bathroom.
The nifty part of this unit is the convenience of finishing
the entire unit – lock stock and barrel – at Swissline
Design’s western Cape workshop which enables delivery
of the unit in its complete form directly to site where its
is ready to be connected to the main water or
electrical supply.
This is without the additional expense of a crane to off
load it as Swissline has developed special lifting brackets
for loading, saving clients the extra cost of hiring a truck
and crane.
The unit is specially designed to travel on almost all
South African roads and to any site where there is access
for a vehicle and 7-metre long trailer, where the unit can be
lowered onto position. Not only is this a convenient way of
building, the units are perfect for guest suites, granny flats,
holiday accommodation, garden cottages and work studios,
among other uses.
With the double volume feature the Tiny Home has a
feel of spaciousness despite its size. The bathroom is
added on in a jiffy once the unit is delivered and there are
additional features like a patio roof on either side or on the
front and optional decking. This is an exciting way of the
future and the ideas are endless especially if you
incorporate Swissline’s fantastic solar system that enables
a total off-grid experience.
