Because both companies share a common goal offering alternative and sustainable building solutions to the South African market, they have gone through the
processes to have their spruce beams structurally certified through SATAS, which is a big step for them.
Through this partnership they offer the following products:
• S5 certified spruce rough sawn timber
• Thermo-treated Finnish pine
• Larch and spruce interior and exterior cladding, decking and flooring
• 3-ply cross-laminated spruce boards
• Fermacell gypsum fibre
• Pavatex wood fibre insulation
• Novatop housing system
IFA’ s long-standing relationship with Baillie lumber allows it to hold large quantities of American hardwoods. Baillie Lumber is one of North America’ s largest hardwood lumber manufacturers, distributors, and exporters.
Baillie is a provider of hardwood logs, hardwood lumber and proprietary grade hardwood lumber products to around the world, these timbers include different grades and a variety of species such as: American white and red oak, ash, cherry, hard maple, walnut and poplar.
IFA’ s relationship with the local market allows it to trade with a variety of soft and hardwoods, including MDF, chip boards, veneers, and South African pine. IFA has a strong relationship with a few south-east Asian markets which allows it the opportunity to import the finest decking, ply boards, and Meranti.
THERMALLY TREATED EUROPEAN PINE
Thermic treated pine is a very durable solution for outdoor use. The manufacturing process of Thermo-Wood is based on the use of high temperature( 185-225 ° C) and steam.
