One of the demonstrations from the festival.
Lecturer at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Barry Muller, discussed how the forest is a valuable asset to the community. Forests not only play a significant role in carbon sequestration, but also provides us with a valuable source of fibre for various applications. Wood fibres are used by many different societies in many different forms throughout the world. Wood is good, and forests provide us with this versatile source. Snyman, Turner and Grobler took to the podium again to discuss traditional archery and how to seal and colour your wood respectively.
DAY 3
After the short film and Tjhoko paints presentations, Langie Lagenhoven gave a talk about interesting facts about bees. Woodoc, Heartwood Bows and the short story followed thereafter.
The kids zone featured interactive activities.
