The Eco Timber Traders story
The Eco Timber Traders story, although not unique, is a story of a passion for wood, a unity of purpose, ongoing perseverance, and a resolute determination to succeed.

There have been many challenges and obstacles to overcome and they’ re sure there will be many more as one must negotiate the unstable current political and economic climate we all find ourselves in.
A brief history reveals that Eco Timber Traders was birthed in 2010 by Hans Schneemann in the very modest beginnings of a small warehouse in Mahogany Ridge, Durban, KwaZulu- Natal. The following year Rob Chubb joined Schneemann as a partner. Together they have a combined wealth of 40 years of expertise and experience in the timber industry and subsequently with a wonderful team of staff and some excellent supply partners, they have built a fantastic timber company specialising in importing and distribution of selectively sourced hardwoods, decking and plywoods from all around the world.
GROWTH AND EXPANSION
After five years of growth in Durban, the time came to open a branch in Gauteng with Chubb relocating to Johannesburg in December 2015 to become the managing director of Eco Timber Traders Johannesburg, while Schneemann would remain and continue as the managing director of the Durban branch.
They subsequently established their Gauteng branch on the West Rand, opening a warehouse just off Beyers Naude Drive in Unit 7, Citrus Industrial Park, Laser Park, Honeydew.
