On point drill sharpening
The Drill Doctor is new technology in drill sharpening and is the
complete package, it is simple to use, is self-powered and does it
all. Each model comes with an excellent instruction booklet with
easy to understand points and images. The units also give you a
number of options on sharpening angles. Old dull, damaged or
blunt drill bits both steel and masonry are normally tossed away or
replaced, not with the Drill Doctors as they now allow you to renew
your old blunt drill bits and give them all a new lease on life.
The Drill Doctor 750 X, the flagship model in the range sharpens
standard steel twist and masonry bits from 3 mm to 19 mm
offering custom point angle sharpening, set to any angle from 115
to 140 degrees. Adjustable material take-off, allowing the user to
change the amount of material removed during sharpening to
further extend the life of the bits. The unit has a cast aluminium
point angle shuttle for added durability. sharpening carbide, cobalt,
high-speed steel, black oxide, tin-coated, twist and masonry bits,
longer chuck jaws hold the bits more precisely, and the jaw guides
eliminate jaw twisting on small bits.

In timber engineering the joining of members is generally a critical
factor in the design of a structure, which places emphasis on the
type of connection used. Metal dowel-type fasteners and
bearing-type connectors are the most common form of connector.
WHY IS THE STRUCTURAL TIMBER WOOD
SCREW DIFFERENT?
• The Structural Timber Screw range is a high-strength wood
screw manufactured from heat-treated carbon steel in
different lengths. This is an alternative to connections via
bolting and traditional coach (lag) screws.
• The 6 and 8mm washer head screw has a 14 and 22mm
washer head with a serrated tread point.
• The structural timber screw installs easily with a six-lobe
driver bit and requires no pre-drilling.
• The Structural Timber Screw is used for connections in load
bearing timber structures between members of solid timber,
glued laminated timber, cross laminated timber and laminated
veneer lumber, similar glued members, wood-based panels or
steel. The high-strength wood screw is also used as tensile or
compressive reinforcement perpendicular to the grain.
• Corrosion treatment is equivalent to hot-dip galvanisation.
