To be included in the HiT program, a beneficiary or a TRE must conform
with the criteria set by the regional office including accreditation from the
DOT. Also, establishments will be assessed the according to the existing
laws related to the health and safety of tourists.
“Safety and security are vital factors in providing quality in tourism. The
success or failure of a tourist destination depends on the TREs being able
to provide a healthy, safe and secure environment for their visitors.”
“By working with partners agencies, we can provide the proper
environment and develop a program of safe services for tourists that will
contribute to a valuable economic return not only or the tourism industry
but for the region as well,” he concluded.

implement rules and regulations relating for the safety and
security of tourists in the region
