GRAND INAUGURAL
OF MOL-MAGSAYSAY
TRAINING ACADEMY
I
t was indeed a milestone for the highly competitive Philippine
maritime training sector when the Mitsui-O.S.K. Lines - Magsaysay
Marine Academy (MMMA), located at Salitran, Dasmarinas City,
Cavite, had its grand inauguration last September 12.
Over 700 people attended this grand inaugural, which included
distinguished guests from the maritime sector, government
officials and industry stakeholders from both the Philippines and
Japan.
Jointly operated by Mitsui-O.S.K. Lines (MOL) of Japan and Magsaysay
Maritime Corporation (MMC), the MMMA will indeed boost up the
competence, competitiveness, skills and quality of Filipino seafarers, who
are acknowledged in the industry as among the best that there is globally.
This is also in line with the Academy's aim of being among the best and
highly esteemed maritime academy in the Asia-Pacific rim.
For its part, MOL focused on its intensive years of experience and
excellent reputation in training top-quality Filipino seafarers who will
become the future leaders in the global maritime industry. And, as
the maritime industry becomes much more complicated and full of
innovations, both in terms of technology and operations, MMMA is
indeed confident that our top-notch Filipino seafarers will play active
roles in this fast-growing sector and take the lead in organizations
that demand advanced, specialized education, which includes safety
management, operational management and business support.
"MMMA is a strong symbol of the ties that bind Japan and the
Philippines together as seafaring nations. MOL has expressed confidence
in young Filipinos who have enormous potential on the global stage.
I hope MMMA will help the country's young generation realize their
dreams and leap ahead in their career paths," proudly noted Junichiro

enthusiastically added that the MMMA is a commitment to the ship
management industry. "We mean business and we are going to
support this. We believe in the contribution of the seafarers and ship
management industry. Let us sail and sail forward because the horizon
is clear. The waters may be rough, but we will succeed--with banners of
excellence, discipline and service, which are all the banners of excellence,
discipline and service, which are all the banners of MMMA," he graciously
concluded. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.
