uly 21, 2019 is a red-letter day for the Cultural
Centre of the Philippines (CCP) when it hosts
the 1st Asia Choral Grand Prix!
Dubbed as ‘the event of events’ in the Asian
choral competition circles, the 1st Asia Choral
Grand Prix will showcase some of the best
and most powerful, award-winning choral
groups from Asia who have bagged top priz-
es in different international choral festivals held in the
continent, namely the Andrea O. Veneracion International
Choral Festival (Philippines), the Bali International Choir
Festival (Indonesia), and the Singapore International
Choral Festival (Singapore). It also coincides with the 4th
Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival, also
being held at the CCP this July 18 to 21.
The late National Artist for Music, choirmaster and choral
clinician Andrea O. Veneracion, for whom the Festival, now
