Castro during the Lifeguard Graduation Ceremony 46 For his part, Director Janairo stressed during the graduation rites that the prevention of water incidents and ensuring the safety of individuals who flock to resorts especially during the summer season is a must and at least one lifeguard must always be on hand to address any emergency situation and provide first aid treatment and basic life support service. “It is also important for these trainees to maintain healthier lifestyles by being healthy and physically strong. Abhorring cigarettes and alcoholic beverages also help enhance better perception and awareness while on duty. Presence of mind is always very important because you are at the forefront of preventing accidents and saving lives,” he furthered.
