velopment (GAD) Focal Point, which aids the government
in implementation of gender mainstreaming. Be it with
women as well as with the social construction of gender
and the assignment of specific roles, responsibilities and
expectations to women and men.
Following the theme Karapatan, Kalayaan, Kultura, the
Pasinaya hosted gender mainstreaming activities and
workshops on February 1 with activities such as ‘Writing
About Women,’ conducted by Katrina Stuart Santiago; and
‘Intro to Women's Dress in the Philippines’ conducted by
Renee Angela Manay at Bulwagang Amado Hernandez.
Other activities that promoted inclusivity and equality that
same day were ’Senyas: A Deaf Awareness and Filipino
Sign Language Workshop’ with the Philippine Federation
of the Deaf, Inc., at Bulwagang Pambansang Alagad ng
Sining; ‘Writing for Senior Citizens’ conducted by Imelda
Morales, at the CCP Library; and, ‘All Rights, Kids! Exploring
Rights through Theater’ facilitated by Abner Delina Jr., at
Silangan Hall.
For February 2, performance promoting gender and

THE Cultural Center of the Philippines celebrated the 15th anniversary of Pasinaya
themed as “Karapatan, Kalayaan at Kultura” last February 1-3, 2019. The country’s largest
multi-arts festival offered a three-day experience on various art forms and genres.
