n a bid to better serve its growing roster of Chinese
clients through the convenience of e-commerce,
Duty Free Philippines (DFP) now allows them to
via WeChat and Allpay, two of China’s fast-growing
mobile applications.
This ‘partnership of innovation’ was a result from
a memorandum of agreement forged between
DFP and the two Chinese mobile app firms who were
designated as the official service providers in all DFP
shops nationwide. Inking the agreement were Henry Diaz,
President of Smart Pay Equicom, which represents AllPay,
Self-serve 58 Board of Director Robert Yupangco for We
Chat and Vicente Anggala, Chief Operating Officer of DFP.
The numbers themselves also speak for brighter, as
well as longer-term growth prospects: 700 to 800 million
