Maritime Integrity of licensure exams assured by SCTW office N ow, the integrity of examinations in licensure for both deck and engine department marine officers will be surely assured and strictly implemented, thanks to the adoption of new measures aimed at this. Included is a new system adopted by the SCTW Office in the administration of licensure exams, which has been in its pilot testing process last October. Pilot testing has been done at the MARINA Central Office while regular examinations using the present system will continue at AMOSUP testing facility in Intramuros, Manila. Another welcome addition is the actual test questions which is now available for viewing at the 16 MARINA website. Adding more convenience on the part of those taking exams so they can have a glimpse on what will be asked, and have more time for reviewing.  The questions have all been updated and are more than just mere guide questions. It is also mandated that according to law, the questions used in the previous year must also be published, and 20 percent of these questions have to be replenished every year. The law also stipulates that uploading of the questions may take place every quarter, semi-annually or in just one sitting for as long as the total is 20 percent. Questions not nec- essary during the recent evaluation have been eliminated.
