T he Department of Labor and Employment ( DOLE ) the other agencies in providing assistance to P100,000 per family of eight missing seaman aboard a tugboat from Korea to the Philippines , in January last year .
Said Secretary Silvestre H . Bello III of Labor and Employment ( DOLE ) that the government honor the sacrifices of the seaman conjunction condolences to the bereaved family .
" The Filipino seafarers are the new heroes of our generation and ought to thank them for their suffering and sacrifice in order to provide a good life for their families . We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and we are praying for the good of their families , " said Bello .
Awarded Bello , along with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration ( OWWA ) Administrator Hans Cacdac ; Department of Foreign Affairs ( DFA ) Undersecretary Jess Jabez ; DOLE Undersecretary Dominador Say ; Party-list Representative and Anchor , Cong Jesus Manalo , the financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the missing seamen .
