practitioners join World Day for
Safety and Health commemoration

A hundred and thirty-five (135) safety and
health officers from all over Central Luzon
joined this year’s commemoration of World
Day for Safety and Health at Work, DOLE
Region 3 Director Ana Dione reported
yesterday to Labor and Employment
Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz.
“Our commemoration of World Day for Safety and
Health at Work is our pre-labor day activity in line with
the 114th Labor Day Celebration anchored on the theme
“Kinabukasa n Sigurado sa Disenteng Trabaho”, said
Dione.
“This is part of our continuing call for a stronger
campaign in making safety and health in the workplace
a way of life,” she said.
Baldoz, commending the regional office for the preLabor Day activity, urged all the region’s safety officers
to strictly implement their safety programs, saying this
will ultimately minimize work-related accidents and
make workers more productive and competitive.

“Safety has always been a prime concern of the
DOLE. Aside from correct and timely-paid wages and
benefits, safety and healthy workplaces is another very
important thing we should consistently look after,” she
emphasized.
The DOLE regional office partnered with the Central
Luzon Occupational Safety and Health Network
(CLOSHNET) in organizing the annual event. The
safety and health officers who attended the occasion are
also officials and members of the CLOSHNET and who
represented around 50 large companies, mostly inside
the Freeport and Economic Zones.
A motorcade around the City of San Fernando
encompassing parts of McArthur Hi-way and Jose
