stakeholders at the Feb. 12, 2015 seminar hosted by
Japan Ship Machinery and Equipment Association
(JSMEA) at Diamond Hotel in Malate, Manila. Mejia,
a top maritime law and policy expert, and also a navy
and coast guard, hailed JSMEA chaiman Motoyoshi
Nakashima, director Masahiro Uesono of Japanese
Foreign Affairs maritime bureau, DTI Usec Ponciano
Manalo, Jr., JSMEA vice chairmen Masaaki Matsui and
Shinzo Yamda for leading in organizing the seminar,
that benefited both Filipino and Japanese attendees
helping Philippine-Japanese maritime and shipping
undertaking firmer. There were some 40 delegates from
Japan, 10 of them made presentation of their products
supplied worldwide, while Filipino participants from
the government and private numbered about 50. The
partnership has become more vibrant to date.
