Sapir Cohen was among the two hundred fifty-five hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th . After Fifty-five days , she returned to her family as one of the first wave of released hostages . In April , Sapir spoke at a gala event held in her honor at a Synagogue in Arizona . Sapir explained how she recited a Psalm during her captivity , whose words had brought her encouragement and kept her hopes alive during her ordeal .
Sapir explained that a month before her capture , she received a message on her Instagram account that promised if she recited a special prayer ( a chapter from Psalms / Tehillim ) for thirty days , she would receive health and even miracles . Throughout Sapir ' s testimony , she repeated how reciting this " prayer " gave her supernatural peace to endure her ordeal . At the end of her astounding testimony , Sapir fielded questions from the audience . Someone asked if she remembered the name of the Psalm that gave her courage . Sapir explained it was " Kaph Zayin ," Psalm 27 .
