A Case of

Mistaken Identity : Who Am I and Why

Am I Here ?

BENJAMIN JUSTER
There are moments in life when we face an identity crises . We may have an idea of the person we want to be , but doubts and external pressures challenge our self-conception . Others may label me unfairly , or I may act in ways that are contrary to my values , causing me to question : Who am I ? Why am I here ? This conflict contributes to a sense of mistaken identity — who I think I am on the inside doesn ’ t match the person on the outside .
The Oxford Dictionary defines identity as " the fact of being who or what a person or thing is ; the characteristics determining who or what a person or thing is ." This definition touches on a profound question central to human existence . It is a question that has its roots in the very foundation of humanity .
