Maimonides, in his classic compendium of Judaism, Mishneh Torah, powerfully wrote the following,
“ Congregational prayer is always heard by God. Even if sinners are present, God does not reject public worship. One should therefore associate himself with the congregation; he should not pray in private when he can pray with the congregation.”
As both Jewish and Gentile followers of Yeshua, we can give a strong affirmation to this statement. Congregational prayer is the lifeblood of a community. God wants His people to pray not just in secret, but also with the members of His Body. We read this in Hebrews 10:25-26( TLV),
