In the same way that no ship captain or crew wants to find out they ’ ve sailed 7,500 miles only to miss their destination , we do not want to arrive at the day of Messiah and find that much of our lives and work have been “ burned up ” ( 1 Cor . 3:10-15 ) because we haven ’ t been doing what Yeshua has told us to do :
“ Be my witnesses ,” and to “ Make disciples .”
Yeshua made it clear that He desires that we as His Body stay on course and fulfill his purposes :
“ I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit , fruit that will last .” and , “ I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be full !” ( John 15:16,11 )
Yeshua desires to re-calibrate us to the joy that comes in learning to share the Gospel and intentionally grow others to maturity in Him . Yeshua is calling us to recalibrate each of our congregations towards a culture of witness and discipleship .
And so , we ask , “ How might Yeshua desire to recalibrate me , and my local congregation , towards joyful , empowered witness and intentional , committed disciple making ?”
