For example , if you have to keep forgiving someone every time you see them , then possibly you ’ re holding on to an offense , and not really giving it to God . I know that ’ s true for me . We can forgive , and love them as Yeshua loves us , but sometimes we get angry again because of things that have been said and done . So , as I clean around my house , I ask God to take out those things that don ’ t belong , those things that keep me from drawing closer to Him . I ask Him to get into the nooks and crannies of my own heart and clean out all the debris that remains . I ask Him to get out all the junk that I let wear me down . For example , as I collect the food that doesn ’ t belong in my house , I visualize collecting things in myself that do not belong in me . When I search for crumbs , I search my heart for crumbs also . When the bedikat hametz is done and I recite that second prayer of what was seen and unseen ( Kol Chamira ), I silently say it for myself also . Now not only is my house ready for Pesach , but I feel that I am also .
Once our homes are cleaned , we are ready to bring in matzah for Passover . While leaven represents sin in our lives , matzah represents purity and truth ,
“ Also , taking a piece of matzah , he made the b ’ rakhah , broke it , gave it to them and said , “ This is my body , which is being given for you ; do this in memory of me .” Luke 22:19 CJB
For Messianic believers , matzah also represents redemption and freedom as seen in our celebration at the Lord ’ s Table and during the Passover Seder . Just as God freed the Jews from Egypt , Yeshua sacrificed Himself and freed us from our sins . With this , we as Messianic believers incorporate the sacrifice of Yeshua into our Seder ’ s every year . Taking a good look at the matzah , we see the piercings , the bruises , and the stripes . Seeing these reminds us of His sacrifice . He has freed us from sin and shame ,
