3 . Extend Trust
In your own journey of life , there is always a “ first time ” for everything . You needed to step out and do something before you had the experience to do it well . We should always extend trust toward people a little beyond what they have proven they are able to do .
4 . Do It Together
Invite the various ages and roles within the congregation to do things together . Ask them to help plan a congregational or ministry event with you . Challenge them to prepare short testimonies or teachings for their small groups . Give them the opportunity to sing on the worship team . During congregational events , plan some fun activities that bring everyone together .
Of course , there will be times when it is appropriate to have unique gatherings or meetings for specific demographics in the community , but be intentional about where you include the young people and emerging leaders .
5 . Celebrate Successes
” No person can be a great leader unless he takes genuine joy in the successes of those under him .” - W . H . Auden
Intentionally show honor and rejoice in the success of others around you . Yeshua was overcome with joy ( Luke 10:21-24 ) when His disciples started to walk in their calling . When we express excitement and gratitude about what God is doing in and through other people , it motivates them to grow and set bigger goals for the future .
