my time on this earth is spent , my greatest desire is to have stayed true to Adonai and to bring glory to Him from the example of my journey on the path of life .
Here are some keys to maximize your potential for finishing well :
Trust Those That Have Gone Before You
As noted earlier , it takes a long time to walk a trail before it becomes a visible path for others . Those who have successfully navigated life ’ s challenges have provided us with a good example of what to do . They have marked the trail , and because of their walk of faith , we have more testimonies and practical help than at any other time in history . Who do you look to as the trailblazers that have gone ahead of you ? How did they live their life as followers of Yeshua ? Yeshua is the best example of them all . He perfectly followed as He “ only did what he saw the Father doing .” ( John 5:19 )
Use a Map
There are many distractions and diversions along the way . God has given us the Torah and the New Covenant Writings as the best road map for righteous living . Spend regular time reading the Word so that you can be confident of your direction . Though the stories are from a millennia ago , the lessons and applicability are timeless . The less time you spend in God ’ s Word , the more difficult it is to retain clear discernment for the path ahead . The Word of God is a light unto our path . ( Psalm 119:105 )
Stay on the Path
When life gets difficult , it is tempting to try to find an easier and quicker way around God ’ s prescribed direction . But what might seem like a shortcut comes with its own pitfalls and dangers . It reminds me of a story that my father told me about one of his off-trail excursions as a young adult . He was accosted by a Ranger and warned that he had come perilously close to quick sand . And if he had gotten stuck , there might not have been anyone to rescue him . It was important to keep to the trail because it was watched and protected .
