Spirits were high and festivities higher as Rhythm and Ribs returned to Tifton last weekend .
The annual barbecue and music festival was bigger than ever before during its 10th year showing March 3 and 4 , as the celebration not only filled the park but expanded out of it for the first time .
In addition to a handful of vendors setting up shop on the lawns across from Fulwood Park , the 2023 festival marked the debut of Ribs and Rides , a car show on the strip of Tift Avenue in front of the park hosted by Southern Gearheads , treating attendees of the festival to a gala of top of the line cars and vintage automobiles .
On the grounds of the park , vendors and booths of all kinds dotted nearly every open space , bringing plenty of festival food , handmade crafts , and fun and games .
From boutiques and food trucks to craft stalls , pickle stands and pop-up nurseries , this Rhythm and Ribs seemed to have something for everyone .
Professional barbecue team Reu-B-Que was declared the winner of the festival ’ s inaugural People ’ s Choice contest , earning a special cutting board trophy and a small cash prize of $ 150 .
Though a bit smaller than some of the other teams , Glory , Glory to Old Porky took home the prize of grand champion of the backyard division BBQ contest , and held their Squealbert trophy high upon receiving it .
