As another school year comes to a close , schools across Tifton and Tift County will be saying farewell to many of their graduating seniors .

However , with that goodbye also comes a sendoff to the next chapter in their lives , and as Tifton and Tift County ’ s STAR students prove , several graduating seniors are eagerly looking forward to the future .
Benjamin Wilson and Michal Gregus of Tift County High School , as well as Chandler Livingston of Tiftarea Academy , have spent much of their senior years preparing for the next step , each forming their own plan for college and beyond .
After receiving recognition from Tifton and Tift County in the Student Teacher Achievement Program for their excellent performance not only on the SAT but also in their classes overall , the three seniors are looking to continue the streak of excellence in the next chapter of their education , lives and careers .

Livingston applied to at least 10 colleges and universities , but among them found the opportunity to study aerospace engineering at Auburn University , a school he has long wanted to attend .
“ I ’ ve always wanted to go to Auburn , always been a fan ,” Livingston said . “ I love the city over there and the campus is great .”
Wilson and Gregus have both been accepted to Georgia Tech , where Wilson is eager to begin
studying , but while Gregus is content to study there as well , he has held out on making a decision on the chance that his application to Yale will come back accepted as well .
“( Georgia Tech ) will be a very different lifestyle and experience to what I ’ m accustomed to in Tifton . It ’ ll be a much bigger city in the form of Atlanta ,” Wilson said . “ It has its share of worries and also things to look forward to . I ’ m sure there will be a much greater wealth of opportunities in Atlanta as far as things I can do , especially at school , at Georgia Tech .”
