What does the Holiday season mean you and how has that meaning guided your career?

The holiday season means lots of different things to many people. To me, the holiday season is when you should spend time with people that mean the most to you. It is also a time to give back to the community. Overall, it is a time to reflect on the past year, give thanks for the blessings, learn from the mistakes and failures, and work towards improvement in the new year. This philosophy holds true in my career. I seek for every collection I design to be better than the last. I am also a big proponent of using fashion to raise money for important causes. I was able to contribute this year to Love Without Reason by headlining in their “SHINE! Fashion Show.” It was an incredible experience to help raise support for children’s free craniofacial surgeries in developing countries. The fashion industry should truly do more to support such great causes, not only at the holidays, but year round.

What single message would you like to tell our readers?

The fashion industry is very fickle in nature. However, success can always be attained with hard work and re-invention. Although success may be a long time coming, it is worth the fight to get there. Nothing worth having comes easily.
