her sisters and aunts, and even a tiny boutonnière for her son to wear at the wedding and again for his First Holy Communion a few years later. Everything turned out beautifully!
Some brides are more sentimental than others, but I think everyone likes to keep little relationship mementos. Concert tickets, menus, photo booth photos, and love letters all end up in a shoe box at some point. Gina was a saver of all of those things and more! She and her fiancé are in a comedy troop, a theater company and even act in a Halloween haunted house production together! She had saved tons of trinkets from their past experiences together. After she contacted me about making her wedding bouquet, we met for coffee and talked about a bridal bouquet game plan.
She sent me her collection of relationship momentos with an itemized list and notes about how she would like them used. I created all kinds of different flowers from the paper pieces, and added in all of the other special odds and ends she had given me. For example, she had written a note to her fiancé that I used to make a rose for his boutonnière. The final result was a gorgeous bouquet that was a virtual scrapbook of their relationship. Gina then got to carry it down the aisle for their friends and family to see. Her relationship mementos are now out of the shoebox and on a shelf as a permanent reminder of their special day.
Making personalized bouquets always makes me wonder what I will be designing next! Every bride is different with fantastic ideas about their weddings. I've learned, to my great joy, that the more personal a wedding is, the more special it becomes for everyone that attends, especially the bride!
