The best things in life are free! My free favorites are
laughter, hugs, smiles, meditation, affirmation and
exercise. Most of my days are filled with these
favorites and they keep me grounded and healthy.
My best days are when I have twenty minutes of
meditation, sixty minutes of yoga class, thirty minutes
of jogging; and the whole day filled with laughter,
hugs and positive affirmations. However, when I
don’t have enough time in the day for all of my
favorite free rituals, I always practice one!
Laughter maybe the simplest one of all! It is the best medicine and there are
many health benefits of humor. The sound of a roaring laughter is far more
contagious than any cough, sniffle or sneeze. When shared, laughter binds you
together with others, creating connection and increasing happiness. Laughter
also triggers healthy physical changes in the body by strengthening your
immune system, boosting your energy and protecting you from the damaging
effects of stress. Believe it or not, humor even diminishes pain. Nothing is more
dependable and works faster to bring your mind and body back into balance
than a good laugh!
Yoga is also simple to practice during the day. Add in some positive affirmations
and you’re good to go! You can practice yoga sitting at work, on a hike or at
home. No matter where you are and how much time you have, there are many
yoga poses that you can incorporate in your day. There are many benefits of
yoga. Yoga creates better posture and, therefore, reduces back pain. It
increases mind and body balance and subsequently creates focus. The benefits
are endless and so are the things you can do when you are pain free, balanced
and focused! Of course, if you have the time, take it! If not, fit it in!
