Wow --- 1,074 miles!! On a 1949 Indian Scout!! When Guy
talked about this tribute ride years ago I thought it was an awesome
idea and such a great tribute to his parents. They had talked about
an anniversary ride (since they did their honeymoon on motorcycles)
and were never able to make it. So to do this tribute ride – as a family
– sounded amazing. He bought a couple of Indians for us to ride a few
years ago and we weren’t able to make the ride happen. He decided
for those bikes to be on the ride but to build up bikes for us to ride
from parts that his Dad had from being an Indian dealer way back
when. I was so very happy that not only each brother and sister were
able to be a part of this tribute at least in part- if not all- of it. There
were children of Charlie and Mary Ellen, grandchildren and even
great-grandchildren - as well as great cousins, godmother, extended
family and many friends that met us along the way – even people that
followed our journey online and met us somewhere along the way. I
love that our daughter, Kaitlin, rode most of the journey on bikes with
us (we made her give up her bike seat for our photographer on one
leg of the trip). It’s pretty awesome that the love for motorcycling is
being passed down to the next generation too. A big Thank You to
our wonderful Indian dealers that were a great support and showed
us such wonderful hospitality – Indian Motorcycle of Oklahoma City,
5th Gear Cycle in Tulsa and Heritage Indian in Rogers, AR. We
defi nitely are thankful for coverage on our trip – a big THANKS to “T”
