brought someone over 500 miles
away through an immense storm
to ministry His Word to him.
Friday morning was the tent
raising. Coffee, water, cookies,
and ministry were available to
those needing spiritual guidance.
The various ministries or groups,
rotated for a four-hour service
duty in the tent. Our crew had
the 5:00 to 9:00 a.m. shift. Red
River is a breathtaking heavenly
view, where you can watch God’s
creatures and creation in their
natural habitat. Smiling, I thought,
“We came through hell to get to
heaven.”
Five o’clock came early with
its crisp morning air. We walked
toward the tent, noticing a brown
bear ravishing through the trash.
He looked up at us, then turned
back to his trash-searching
venture. He glanced up a couple
of more times, then scurried up
into the mountains.
Throughout the week we were
able to minister to many people.
There were salvations, many prayers, many bike blessings. We distributed 3,200 Bibles during the
week. God was ever present throughout our week.
Saturday we rode 100 miles around Enchanted Mountain. The breath-taking scenery of God’s
handiwork, cannot be described, only experienced. We stopped at Angel Fire to view the Viet Nam
Memorial, another avid reminder of God’s continued protection over me during my wartime service.
Many veterans were at the Sunday services.
Tent duty Memorial Monday came early. We all circled up in prayer before taking the tent down.
The Holy Spirit could be felt throughout the crowd as we all began to thank God for the week, and the
things He did while we were there. We prayed for His wisdom and guidance as we returned to our
homes.
Each time we stopped we discussed the good things that had happened while we were there.
God’s presence was definitely noticed in the various things we did. It was a time for listening to God’s
voice and experiencing His presence.
So, when you are going through your storm(s), remember, God loves you, He’s always with you, and
He will bring you through. Jesus went through, and to hell, that we might be forgiven, be free, and spend
our eternity in heaven. The gift is free! Don’t give up on your highway to heaven!
