FEATURES PARTYING OL’ SCHOOL BIKER STYLE ARTICLE AND PICS BY DUSTE CRAIG 12 Thunder Roads Magazine of OK/AR It’s mid-July and this biker’s fancy turns to thoughts of....parties! Good ones. Big ones. Old school biker camping, river swimming, beer drinking, moonlight dancing Biker Parties! The Mulberry River Run, also affectionately known by its attendees as Party Nekkid, fits that bill to a tee! The event, held at Byrds Adventure Camp, on Hwy 215 in Ozark, AR, is a 4 day event sponsored by the Boozefighters MC. It is a charity event that benefits local childrens’ charities in the Northwest Arkansas area. One of the largest beneficiaries is The Peace at Home Family Shelter. The Mulberry River Run has raised over $200,000 for various charities since its inception. This is most definitely one of those events that ranks high in the pantheon of cool things to do on a summer weekend. It starts on Thursday with a BFMC private party which is invitation only. Friday begins the public portion of the event and it is a hoot! Live music, raffles, a very well stocked beer garden and vendors are some of the things to do. Saturday the party continues with plenty of things to do at the event location. It was very hot that weekend and many people spent the day swimming and floating on the river, enjoying the cool water and all the ‘sights’. The food vendors did a brisk business and the ladies of the BFMC did a fantastic job of slinging beers as fast as they could get them open! Since I am employed in the motorcycle business, I work on Saturdays so I had Thunderhorse II packed with camping gear planning to depart immediately afterwards to head south for the party. This year I wanted to get an early start and the bosses were kind enough to let me roll at 4:00pm.
