FACEBOOK RANT – Last month, near Stillwater, OK, there was an altercation along a roadway between a group of riders and a man in a truck. The riders said that they had been cut off in traffic by the man. The riders then rode alongside the truck exchanging words until the man in the truck stopped at a point on the roadway where his armed friends joined him as backup. A fight ensued, weapons were drawn and threats were made both physically and verbally. Wanting to make a point as to how I felt about this and yet, not knowing the full story other than what I saw on video, I went to our Facebook Page for our readers’ opinions. It went a like this: Facebook Post by “T” which accompanied the video of the attack: I’m going to use this as a good lesson for everyone. We riders get cut off often. It’s part of riding which I despise. However, take note from this video how quickly road rage turned into, what appears to be, an ambush and assault by “good buddies”. If these riders, which by hearsay I heard were cutoff by the truck, would have allowed the truck to go on about his business, by the bikers, this wouldn’t have come to this. Keep your cool on the road. It’s not easy, but it’s impossible to get those who cut us off to understand how dangerous it is, so we have to wonder if it’s worth the argument with them in the first place. Please ride alert and aware out there. Fact is.... They aren’t watching for us, we must watch for them. Your Riding Writer, T A Few of The Responses: Trenda C.: This is ridiculous on so many levels. It seems as if most parties involved made some really bad choices. I’m just glad it ended with no more violence. Hughes T.: Sounds like the “ bikers “ in this story are playing this one for all they can get. Where’s the other part of the video showing them cutting off the pickup. If you ask me they got what they deserved. And yes I am a biker. Stacy C: There’s more to the story, the guys on the bikes are playing victim. The guy on the bike picked on one single guy in a truck, cause he thought he had 5 guys on bikes to back him up.
