CA RUN … WE AREN ’ T TALKING

ABOUT CALIFORNIA !

For 28 years , there ’ s a been a wild and rambunctious group of motorcycle riders tear out of Harley-Davidson World in OKC to four stops of varying distances . “ Big deal ,” you say . Add to that the date of this run is early to mid February . It ’ s often very cold . This year it was a chilly ride from my home in Stillwater down to OKC at 8am . However , by the end of the day , I was very comfortable riding in jeans and leather jacket . The wind was a bit of a challenge , but what ’ s a good CA Run without a small challenge of some type ?
There were a total of 694 registered riders for this year ’ s ride . Again , Duke , won the oldest rider at 90 years young . He accepted his trophy reliving the tale of his many rides barely wearing anything but his underwear in freezing temps . One year he made the ride totally nude . These days he wears his clothes , but he still makes the
full ride on his cruiser . He ’ s quite the champion to the other riders who cheer loudly as he accepts yet another victory in more ways than one !
The door prizes were numerous and great items . There was over $ 2500 given away in the poker hands and 50 / 50 prizes . Nearly everyone or at least every group , went home with a win of some sort .
