IT ALL HAPPENS IN….

Guymon, Oklahoma. May 11, 2014. The
12th annual 5 State Run was held on the perfect
weekend this year as the weather was gorgeous in
“No Man’s Land.” Temperatures started the day in
the upper 40’s but ended the day with clear blue
skies and close to 80 degrees upon arrival back at
Guymon. The 5 State Run makes 300 miles and
five states in one day, and with clear skies, makes
good for a quick sunburn for those of us that don’t
know what sunscreen is.
Riding parts of Texas, New Mexico, Colorado,
Kansas, and Oklahoma and crossing flat lands,
cattle guards, and running over tumbleweeds are
all part of the ride. This year, the on-site registration
was kept busy as those that paid to ride early got
outnumbered.
There was a total of 896 bikes with 282
extra passengers for a total participation of 1178
riders, only 418 of which were pre-registered. The
top three best hands are awarded prize money.
Congrats go out to Jim Seward from Drumright,
Okla, on the 1st place hand and Jeremy Musgrave from Guymon on 2nd place hands. The one
person I thought deserved his winnings the most,

captured a lot of people by surprise. Terry has two
prosthetic lower legs, and upon receiving his prize
money, we also found out he has no thumbs. We
have all decided to keep a picture of Terry on our
walls for inspiration.
The 50/50 drawings, door prizes galore, and a
chance of them calling your meal ticket number for
envelopes full of cash, keeps these riders coming
back year after year. But for me, I
