from the back of their bike with
others following. Poker Run
cards were optional for those
who wanted to play. Richard
Diamond from Dallas took home
$100 for his high hand. After
some cold drinks and ice cream,
the rally riders were treated to
a special tour of the Wonder
House at the Queen Wilhelmina
Lodge area. This is a stone
house built in the early 30’s and
settled by a man who rode there
on his Harley-Davidson! Upon
leaving this historic location, we
were allowed to climb to the top
of the 5 story fire tower. The view
from there was never ending.
Mountains as far as we could
see. All of them turning a bluegray color in the afternoon sun.
All the awards were given
at the after party provided by
all of our new best friends, Rob
and Tamyra and the crew from
Hog Country Cycles in Mena,
AR. They were assisted by The
Chopping Block Restaurant who
fed the hungry crowd. From start
to finish, this ride couldn’t have
gone any better. Our attendance
was very impressive and the
Mayor and Talimena Scenic Drive
Association have invited us back
to make this an annual event.
I’m certain we will be making it
just that! See more photos and
information at www.talirally.com .
Stay tuned for details on the cool
stuff we will have to do on the
next Ride of the Summer.
