FEATURES feeling like literal rock stars. We were excited to be there, excited to reconnect with friends from last year, and even though most of us had just ridden thousands of miles in the matter of days, we were all excited to get out and ride. The next few days are a sandy blur in my memory filled with desert views, mountain curves, new friends, fresh tattoos, beers, bikes, and babes. The highlight of the event for me was the welding workshop lead by Jessi Combs, professional badass. While Anya and Ashmore, the founders of Babes Ride Out, did a fabulous job putting together an amazing event, nothing will ever compare to the experiences we made while fighting the elements together to get there. I may not have won the Iron Butt Award again this year, but I did get to go on stage and share our story with the hopes that it would encourage even one more babe to take the leap of faith to ride out to next year’s event. The fact that six strangers from Instagram came together and became sisters was a phenomenon that Kat, Lil and I experienced last year, but the other three girls had never dreamed of. “Babes Ride Out is the connecting factor, but it’s the ride out that really is the memories I will cherish forever.” - me, @ wild_warrior_woman “There’s nothing like riding a motorcycle cross country to make you feel empowered and strong.” Kat, @2kms2 “I would recommend that everyone ride out. Wherever you’re coming from, make the time, make it a priority.” - Jen, @jensunshine414 “Take your risks, take your chances, make your decisions.” - Lil, @friendswithdevils “You can’t be scared, you can’t hesitate when it comes to living life to its fullest.” Heather, @hellbentxl48 “You just go, you’re gonna make it there eventually. It might take you three, or four, or five days but you’re gonna make it. So get on your bikes and ride girls!” - Amy Sue, @ amysuesporty For videos from the trip visit Jewelz the Warrior on YouTube 10 Thunder Roads Magazine of OK/AR
