Thunder Roads Magazine of Oklahoma/Arkansas April 2014 Volume 12 Issue 9 | Page 5

Letter from The Editor Hey All You Spring Riders…and you frost bitten year round maniacs as well! Before I start, I’d like to take a moment to ask all of you to say a prayer for all of our downed bikers. If you don’t pray, lift a mug! Recently, Jesse Melton, the General Sales Manager at Fort Thunder Harley-Davidson went down. At press time, Jesse was still in an induced coma, but showing improvement. Here’s wishing Jesse and all who’ve gone down a speedy road to full recovery. Let’s be careful out there folks! Remember they aren’t always watching for you and don’t see you! On the upside, T” has a new ride! For the past few years, I’ve been stuck using the truck and trailer for many events due to the lack of hauling capacity on my chopper, Lola. Not to say, we won’t use the trailer for large events, but I’ve purchased a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special. Of course I’ve named it, THOR. Thor is the Norwegian God of Thunder. So appropriate! At press time, we didn’t have him complete yet, but in the coming month he will be wrapped with our logos, events, ads (space still available) etc. He’s a rolling billboard and can carry magazines out to more towns and clients! For those of you concerned, Lola is still in the family! Not sure I’ll ever give up that awesome Show Girl Bike! I’m feeling a warming trend ahead and if it doesn’t happen, it ‘s not a lack of will and wishful thinking of all of us riders! Regardless of what the weather entails, we are headed into a very eventful summer. Our advertisers, clients, rallies, runs and events are overflowing in our events calendar. May I remind you that you can download our calendar to your phone from our on-line calendar at www.thunderroadsoklahoma.com/events. Go to the bottom of the calendar and click on the gray box “Ical import month’s events”. Bam! Your calendar will be loaded with great new events for you and friends! FLASH! That’s right, we have flashed into Spring with a new feature that I am very excited to offer. FLASH! is our periodic newsletter. Through the spring and summer, I find that we don’t have room for all that is going on in the monthly issue of Thunder Roads. This weekly newsletter will brief you on upcoming events, tips, interesting facts and last minute updates so that you don’t miss a thing! It features hot links and embedded videos which the printed magazine cannot include! If you’d like a free subscription to this e-letter, please register at http:// www.thunderroadsoklahoma.com/get-the-flash OR on our facebook page at www. facebook.com/thunderroadsmagazineokar .
