HARLEY-DAVIDSON WORLD
LADIES GARAGE PARTY
Article and Photos by “T” Collier
I was honored to get a call
to be the guest speaker at the
Harley-Davidson World Ladies
Garage Party. I’ve been to a
few of these garage parties, but
this was the first time that I’d
been asked to speak about my
adventures as a woman rider. I
enjoy sharing my love of riding
with any crowd, but to share it
with like-minded women, is an
extra treat. When going into it,
my biggest hope is that I can
encourage anyone who’s never
ridden to give it a try. (Of course,
I highly recommend a Motorcycle
Safety Foundation Beginner’s
Course for anyone who’s not
had it.) And for those who have

ridden a while, I encourage them
to stretch their horizons. Many
women ride alongside their male
counterpart without ever taking
solo rides or long distance rides.
There’s a wealth of adventure in
going it alone on the open road
or I encourage them to take a
trip with other ladies. There’s
nothing that can make shopping
any better than to do it on a
motorcycle with a bunch of other
ladies!
This Garage Party covered
several topics and subjects.
Ladies were broken into 3
groups and rotated around the
showroom to learn tips from
properly packing motorcycle
luggage, to selecting a bike to
picking out parts, accessories
and chrome for your ride. This
was geared to women riders
whether you ride your own or as
a passenger. Everyone learned
tips that can help them on the
road. From the showroom, we
moved into the Garage! In the
garage area, we learned how
to properly pick up a fallen bike
from the ground without injuring
ourselves. Next, ladies were
encouraged to ride on Harley’s
Jumpstart. This is one of the
coolest inventions ever.
For
anyone who hasn’t ridden, they
