Most of us know the famous Indian brand of motorcycles . We know that the original production began in 1901 and ran to 1953 in Springfield , Massachusetts . In 1911 the Indian factory team took the first three places in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy . During the 1910 season , Indian came to be the world ’ s largest motorcycle manufacturer . In 2011 , Indian Motorcycles was purchased by Polaris Industries and moved into their existing facilities in Minnesota and Iowa . The new 111 cubic inch “ Thunder Stroke ” engine was unveiled in March of 2013 and the newly designed motorcycles began to sell in August of the same year . Since this time they have rolled out the Chief Classic , Chief Vintage , Springfield , Chieftain , Scout , Scout Sixty , RoadMaster , Chief Dark Horse , Chieftain Dark Horse and then in early 2017 , the RoadMaster Classic .
There is another company that some may be familiar with , and others not so much . EagleRider , Inc . was founded in 1992 by Chris McIntyre , Jeffrey Brown , Peter Wurmer , and Robert Pitts , and is the world ’ s largest motorcycle tourism company . When the four men started the company , they started out with four self-purchased Harley Davidson motorcycles . The company was operated out of Wurmer ’ s garage . The first rental took place in 1994 . Did I say rental ? Yes , that is one of the services this company provides . They specialize in motorcycle travel , rentals , sales and service of Harley-Davidson , BMW , Honda , Triumph and Indian .

Now , “ Did You Know ” that you could now rent an Indian motorcycle ? If you are taking a trip throughout the US or even the world , you can find a location . So if you would like to ride this popular route and do not have a motorcycle , you can look up one of the many locations EagleRider has , and take the tour .
